Selena's Fraction Scribepost

Hello 8-14 (:

Today we had to answer three questions and worked on different ways to answer them.

1: In words
2: Simple addition (we didn't do much on this it was however mentioned)
3: Number line

(Sorry my picture isn't as clear as I hoped)

For words all you do is change the "x" to "groups of.

For addition you take the second fraction (eg 4 x 1/2) and write it like this: 1/2 + 1/2 + 1/2 + 1/2

For the number line you just take "hops on it" so if the question is 2 x 1/2 you would make two 1/2 "hops" (if that even makes any sense) Here is a video for a better understanding.

We also learned a bit about words for Division...

That's everything I could remember we did in class,
and what I at least know how to do.

Have a fabulous night. (:

  4. I liked how you explained how to answer all the questions with more than one solution and also clearly, and I also liked how you took the idea of making your own picture on a piece of paper. Maybe next time you could write a bit bigger so we could see what you were trying to write. Maybe next time you could also add a link to your post. All in all you did a good job!

  5. I liked how you explained all the big ideas and, it really refreshed my mind on what we learned today. I also liked how you took a picture of your work on a piece of paper (although I can't understand some of it), and a nice choice of video.

  6. What I liked about your post is that you uploaded your own pictures you wrote yourself, from the notes we took down today. It also helped, and reminded me on some things I didn't quite understand in class. I like how everything is understandable, and the video you chose was too, Good Job!

  8. Great job Selena! I like how you explained everything we did in class really clearly and made it really easy for us to understand. I also like how you made pictures to show how to solve it and also how you found a video that was just right for the topic that we are learning. Maybe next time you should think of making your writing in your pictures a bit bigger so that it is easier for us to see and read. You could also maybe try adding a link on the topic that we are learning just incase some people are still having troubles. Overall, I think you did a great job!
