Jason's Pay it Forward

1 what is pay it forward

- is an assignment a teacher was trying to per sway to the kids to do to see how they could change the world and make a difference in the world Well pay it forward is the thought a kid in a movie had his idea was if he helped 3 people than those people will help 3 people and it will keep going on and on and just keep multiplying so this kid brought a homeless man home and he helped a lady form jumping off a bridge to kill her self.

2 What is my Pay it forward act of kindness ?

my act's of kindness were i went and packed up a bunch of old toys and clothes and I donated them to salvation army. I also went to church and i donated a big box of food to the sisters of charity  nd the take that food and the take it to go feed the homeless and i also did this thing called be a santa to a senior that is also at my church

I chose this activity because -what that is it is when you take these little cards off this christmas tree and you pick one or how ever many you want and you buy the got you got and than you bring it to the church and they deliver it to the senior but what is special about this is these seniors are all on their own and they don't ave any body to celebrate christmas with and you are giving them a gift to let them  them have a good christmas

I chose this activity because the sisters of charity the take that food and the take it to go feed the homeless

I chose this activity because it is giving so people that can not afford new toys or new clothes can enjoy my old ones

I did this act of kindness december first because its a new month and a new time to start a difference

Here I am just packing up my old clothes and toys                            Here I'm bring it to salvation army

Here I'm bringing the food to my church                                        Here I have my santa to a senior

3 How did my act of kindness go

What happened I  donated clothes food and gifts

How did I feel pretty normal

I did ask the people to pay it forward by doing things like this

4 Why is the idea of "Pay it Forward" important. You do something nice to someone, that person dosen't pay you back they pay it forward. To make a differance in the world.

Please Remember To Pay It Forward

Ryan's Pay it Forward

1.What is "Pay it Forward"?
Pay it Forward is by a little kid who plans to change the world by on person helping with three people than those people works with three other people per person and they keep multpilying. His teacher put something in the board I believe its something like this "What can you make a differance to your world?" Than this kid brought this homeless guy to his house after that he tried to help his teacher after that he help his mom. The homeless guy helped a lady not to commit suicde. He tells his teacher to go out with his mom and his mom is trying not to be drunk no more so she can have a husband again.

2.What was mine Pay it Forward act of kindness? My was collecting recyclable items/garbage from my basement.
I pick this activity because my big brother already shovel the snow and my basement is really getting dirty so I clean it up a bit.
I help my mom so she dosen't have to do the cleaning in the basement and she won't yell at me for like a couple hours or so.
I did is cleaning up my basement by collecting garbage/recyclable items that are left on the floor or anywhere.
I did this act of kindness on the first day of december when I wake up around four than I could do something.

Please know that I was the only one awake collecting my garbage/recycle so I have to do this one hand taking a picture and the other one for collecting. The other picture is me picking up garbage from the floor.

3.How did my act of kindness go? It pretty went okay.
What happened? Me just cleaning.
How did I feel? I felt great.
I didn't ask the person to "Pay it Forward" because she already do most of the things like helping her friends and family.
4.Why is the idea of "Pay it Forward" important. You do something nice to someone, that person dosen't pay you back they pay it forward. To make a differance in the world.
My act of kindness made a difference because I don't do the cleaning that much.

Mae Concepcion's Pay It Forward

Part 1: "What is pay it forward?"
"Pay if Forward" is an act of kindness that is meant to be spread throughtout the whole crowd. Even the littlest things like, giving out cards that says something nice can change someone's day. That's where it all starts. From that one person. Then that person makes another persons day, then that person makes another person's day and so on. It's like a chain. We're all linked together in a chain, and the littlest things could break it, but also, the littlest things can fix it. Pay it forward is doing a random act of kindness and expecting nothing back. Pay it forward is when you do act to change the world.

Part 2: "What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?"
Our Pay It Forward act of kindness was giving out candy canes with little greeting notes. We also put some candy canes in peoples mailboxes. Another random act of kindness we did was putting notes of peoples windshields. Selena and I planned to donate some clothes, and books to the Salvation Army, but due to the time we didn't have ride a there, but we still plan on to donate more clothing and books this week.

"Why did you chose this activity?"
Selena and I chose giving out candy canes with little notes on them as one activity. The purpose of this was to make them smile because you'll never know if you're turn their day aroaund. Selena and I wanted to make them smile because we love the feeling of making someone smile, especially because we were the ones who caused them to smile.
We also put some notes on peoples windshields. The purpose of this isn't that different from the purpose of the candy canes. We wanted to make them smile and make their day, because I know that little acts of kindness would've turned my day around.
We chose donating clothes and books as an activity because we wanted to give to people who didn't have. We wanted to donate all of these stuff because we wanted people, like kids to feel equally the same as us. We thought that if we have clothes we don't wear and books we didn't read, why not put it into use and why not give it away for a good cause?

        "Who did you help?"
I feel like we helped the people in our community. Not physically, but emotionally. I feel like we have lifted up their day to something better than they have expected.

       "What did you do?"
Selena and I went to Polo Park to do most of our random acts of kindness. We went to the parking lot and put notes on their windshields saying something that will, hopefully brighten up their day. Another act of kindness we did was giving out candy canes and smiles. The candy canes we have handed out had little notes on them saying something that hopefully, would have made their day, brought their self-esteem up or turned their day around. Another thing we tried to do was donating some clothes and books to Salvation Army. We couldn't get a ride there, but Selena and I are going to try to donate the clothes this week, just because one thing got in our way, doesn't mean we don't stop trying.

"When did you do you act of kindness?"
Selena and I did our act of kindness on December 12, 2012 around 1:00 - 5:30 pm

Part 3: "How did your act of kindness go?"
It went pretty well! Selena and I's mission was to make someone smile and we did. :)
         "What happened?"
So, Selena and I went to Polo Park and went to their parking lot to stick some notes to people's windshields. After that, started giving out candy canes to the workers in some stores! They were so happy that we gave them candy canes and that made us feel so great. After that, we went back to Selena's house and put the extra candy canes in some mailboxes.

      "How did you feel?"
I felt great! I'm actually happy we got assigned to do this project, even though it was a hectic day, I felt great. It made me really happy that I actually made some I didn't know, smile. I didn't know I was capable of doing that until today! I felt nervous at first because I didn't know them, but the result was great! I feel quite different now.

"How did the person or people react?"
Some people that we gave the candy cane to just said thank you and smiled. But when Selena and I went to the store "Lush" we gave 1 worker a candy cane. She said that we were so sweet and nice and that this project that we were doing was a great idea. Tehn right away she wanted to help us find something in the store. Then Selena just went to look around because she loves that store. So one of the ladies came to us and asked us if we need anything or if we were looking for anything and since we were talking to her already, we decided to give her a candy cane. And get this, the second worker (The lady that we took a picture with) was so happy that she wanted to do something nice to us. So she gave us a hand treatment! After the hand treatment, she went straight to her co-workers and bragged about her candy cane! The all the workers said it was a great and sweet idea.

"Did you ask the person or people to "Pay It Forward"?"
Yes we did! Selena and I also wrote "Pay it Forward" on all of the notes we wrote on the candy canes and the notes for the windshields.

"How did they react to your request?"
They seemed confused at first, but then they got the idea after we mentioned the movie! And they were proud of what we were doing.

Part 4: "Why is the idea of "Pay it Forward" important?"
The idea of "Pay it Forward" is important because it teaches young people and even adults sometimes that even littles thing can make a huge impact in the world. It can even save someone's life! Pay it Forward is important because it chains us all together to make peace in the world. It is important because it is what helps our world to become a better place.

"Has your act of kindness made a difference?"
Selena and I's act of kindness made a differnce for the people who were having a bad day, and we turned it around. & I know we haven't donated the clothes and books yet, but when we do, our act of kindness has made a difference by giving children new, clean clothes and some books to read so they can learn how to read and be entertained. I hope that after we donate, they'll feel equally the same as us.

I hope Selena and I's video made you smile! Now it's your turn. Make someone's day and pay it forward!

Selena's Pay it Forward

What is pay it forward?

To me, Pay it forward is doing act an act of kindness to random people and getting nothing in return. You do something for them that makes them happy and makes you feel good inside! Just for the heck of it. Just to try and make a difference. Then whoever you helped, goes and pays it forward to somebody else, and so forth. It's a chain reaction. The simplest things can make a difference.

We chose to do this because:
Smiling to me just makes me feel happier. When I see other people smile it makes me feel good. You never know when all somebody needs is a smile to make them feel better. Even just a simple hello. Whenever I am upset and I see my bestfriends being silly and telling jokes to make me happy again, it always works. Smiling and laughter is the best medicine in my book.

Our act of kindness took place on December 1st in the afternoon and evening.

"How did your act of kindness go?"
I think our act of kindness went great! Mae and I wanted to make people smile, and we did.
         "What happened?"
Mae and I went to polo park and handed out candy canes with notes on them. We also left notes on cars and candy canes in some mailboxes on my street.

      "How did you feel?"
I felt awesome! The ladies at Lush were SO kind to us! they were all smiling which made me feel really good inside! I am glad that we did this project even though it took us awhile to get everything organized.
"How did the person or people react?"
Around the mall as we gave out, some would smile and say thank you but at Lush, that's completely different! From personal experience I know that the ladies there are already nice considering I am in that store every single time I do go to Polo. When we explained to one of the girls what we were doing she had such a big smile on her face! I felt so great! After she told us we were so sweet and adorable etc etc, I wanted to look around. Another lady came up to us and asked if we needed anything, Mae and I decided to tell her about our candy canes and give her one! The lady was soo nice that she gave us hand treatments!!! Our hands were so ridiculously soft afterwards!

"Did you ask the person or people to "Pay It Forward"?"
In fact we did! I wrote "pay it forward" on our notes and others knew about the movie so they had a good idea of what we were doing.

"How did they react to your request?"
After we mentioned the movie "Pay it forward" They underdstood what we meant.

"Why is the idea of "Pay it Forward" important?"
Pay it forward is important because well, we are the change! The smallest little things can make the biggest differences. It's up to us to make our world a better place.

"Has your act of kindness made a difference?"
I believe mae and I made a difference in the peoples days. Hopefully they might have told friends about it and maybe they may want to pay it forward! Although we haven't donated the clothes YET we still will! I donate clothes and stuff regularly actually! Hopefully the kids who read those books will love them and maybe it'll encourage them to read more!

I hope that you enjoyed our video. Go out and

make somebody's day! Pay it forward.

Gem's Pay it Forward

Part 1
What is "Pay it Forward"
Pay it forward to me is showing the act of kindness to people and expecting nothing in return. Doing something nice and having them do the same by paying it forward. One person can make a big difference. That one person can lead into a whole group of children and adults contributing to make that change. I believe that all of this starts with you. It starts with you, to show others that making a difference does not have to be a big deed to make a change. Sometimes something simple can make the biggest difference.

Part 2
What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?
The act of kindness Jessica Tran and I did for Pay it Forward were various acts of difference making like giving out notes, cookies, notes, and many more. Giving a gift to the Firefighters, donating money to Salvation Army and also providing mittens, tuques, and hats for "Koats for Kids" We also collected a few more pennies to add to our penny bag!

Why did you choose this activity?
We chose this activity because we wanted to make people smile through our act of kindness. We also think that a lot of people especially kids have less than others should be able to feel that they can have the things that we do too. We also think that we need to let others know that there are people out there that wants to make a difference. We also believe that sometimes something so simple can make a big difference. As you can see the little things we did today, made people smile and helped our community realize that we are the start of change. We make the change.

Who did you help?
I may not know who exactly my peers and I have helped throughout our act of action, but I do know that whoever these people may be, they are people who have gone through the most lowest.

What did you do?
The act of kindness Jessica Tran and I did for Pay it Forward were many various acts of difference making. The first thing we decided to do was to go to Polo Park Mall and give out notes to people and also put notes that explained what Pay it Forward is on people’s windshields of their cars at Polo Park’s parking lot. Second thing we did was give out Dad’s cookies to random people as an act of kindness. As we gave out the cookies we made a lot of people smile and it felt really good after. As we were walking around Polo Park we saw a girl and a guy standing beside a Salvation Army bucket asking for a donation. Jessica and I both looked at each other and we knew right away that we wanted to donate. We told the girl about the activity our school was doing and we gave in money. We both smiled as we walked away and it felt really good to know we made another difference. Another thing we decided to do was to say thank you to the firefighters. Jessica and I both decided to buy a box of cookies at Shoppers and give it to the firefighters as a little thank you for risking their lives for our community. We also made a letter to the fire fighters that said we were very thankful for all the things they did for us and we also told them on the note what Pay it Forward was to us and what our School is doing. Jessica and I also thought of the idea of donating to Koats for Kids. After Polo we went to Dollarama to buy tuques, hats, and scarves for the kids that we will be donating for Koats for Kids. We went to the fire department and Jessica and I both gave them the cookies we bought them and also the items we purchased at Dollarama. After that, Jessica and I were very happy and proud of ourselves because we truly believe that we did make a difference. `

When did you do you act of kindness?
I did my act of kindness on the 1st day of December 2012 with Jessica Tran at Polo Park Shopping Mall around 12- 2pm and at the Fire Department Service on Sargent Avenue at around 3pm.

Part 3
How did your act of kindness go?
I think my act of kindness went really well. I believe we did make a big difference in our world and community.

What Happened?
Can you imagine so much can happen in one day! First of all Jessica and I started off giving out cookies. When we would approach a strangers we would tell them that our school is doing a project called "Pay it Forward" and we offered them a cookie. After a few of those, we decided to go outside and put notes on peoples windshield and lastly we we did was go to the Fire Department Service on Sargent Avenue to give the firefighters a box of cookies and we also donated winter clothing to Koats for Kids. An addition act of difference making we also collected pennies to help the school out on the  project we were doing to help fill up bags of pennies to provide someone water.

How did you feel?
I had so much emotions inside me as we were approaching people and giving out cookies. At first I was very nervous and scared because I didn't know if they would accept the cookie we were giving out or not. Most of the people that we offered a cookie was very polite and nice and accepted them so  after a few of those I was pretty happy. I felt very proud of my partner and I too because we only had one day to do all of this and we did it!

How did the person or people react?
Some people that we handed out cookies seemed confused at first but after we explained what we were doing they automatically had a smile on their faces when we said we were doing it to Pay it Forward. When we went to the Fire Department the firefighter that opened the door for us was very nice and he said that he really appreciates what we did for them! One special person that popped out in my head was an old man that we went up to ask him if he wanted a cookie and we told him we were from Sargent Park and he told us that his father used to be the principle of Sargent and he said that he was very proud of what Sargent is now. It made me smile and it made me feel really good about myself.

Did you ask the person or people to "Pay It Forward"?
Yes, I did ask the person to "Pay It Forward"

How did they react to your request?
After I asked them to Pay It Forward some of them told us that they would try to remember to pay it forward to someone else during the day or week. Some of them seemed very surprised and amazed of what we were doing to Pay it Forward.

If you did not ask the person to "Pay It Forward" how come?
-----

Part 4
Why is the idea of "Pay it Forward" important?
The idea of "Pay it Forward" is important because it teaches people especially young people like me, that it does not have to be big to make a difference. Even starting off someones day with a smile is one of the most simplest yet greatest thing to do as an act of kindness. Making someone smile is the best feeling in the world especially when you know you did it coming from your heart. We need to let everyone know how to Pay it Forward and especially because Paying it Forward is one of the most simplest things to do to make a difference in our world and community. Just think about it, making someone smile or donating a pair or boots that you've grown into is a start to paying it forward.

Has your act of kindness made a difference?
My act of kindness made a difference for those people that are not as fortunate as us. My act of kindness also helped those who are cold by providing them mittens, tuques, and hats. My act of kindness will help those who do not have food to eat, and a roof to protect them, or even clothing from the money we donated to Salvation Army.

Thank you to Selena Santos and Mae Concepcion for helping Jessica and I take pictures/video along the way! :)

Jessica Tran`s Pay It Foward

Part 1: What is "Pay Is Forward?"

Pay It forward is the concept of doing a kind deed or a random act of kindness for someone and expecting nothing in return but for them to also "Pay It Forward" to another 3 people and then those people will "Pay It Forward" to another 3 people each and you soon, you will see that there will be a lot of acts of kindness that just started with ONE person, It's kind of like a virus but a good one, a kind of virus that gets everyone to do good things for people that might not be as lucky as you are, or just a random act of kindness that could make someone's day.

Part 2:
What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?
I did a couple of acts of kindness actually, one of them was giving out dad cookies with notes saying " Enjoy the cookie! Have an amazing day! Pay it forward! -spsflames,the second thing wass putting notes on people's windshield, the third thing was donating money to Salvation Army, the fourth thing was giving a box of cookies, dad cookies with a thank you note to the fire fighters and the last thing was to donating hats and mitts to Koats for Kids!

Why did you choose this activity?
I chose this act of kindness activity because I wanted to make someone's day or make someone smile because making other people smile make me smile also! I also wanted to thank the fire fighters because they already risk their lives trying to save ours so Gem and I decided to Pay It Forward to them too! I also wanted to donate to Salvation army because they find food and clothing for children and families, offer shelter for people who don't have a home and rehabilitation for people who are trying to get their life back on track from bad addictions and we donated to Koats for Kids because they help children find jackets, mitts, hats and winter needs for children who don't have them! and in Winterpeg you definitely need all of those!

Who did you help?

The cookies didn't really help someone, but it made someone smile! When we donated to Salvation Army though, We helped those people who have a hard time getting clothes, food and shelter. We need those basic things to live and I'm glad Salvation Army tries to help people find those! We also helped children have new mitts and hats by donating for Koats for Kids!

When did you do you act of kindness?
I did this act of kindness on December 1st at Polo Park Shopping Mall around 12 - 2, and at The Fire and Paramedic Service on Sargent Ave around 3.

Part 3:
How did your act of kindness go?
I think my act of kindness went very well! It was a successful day and we made a difference in somebody's life!

What Happened?
Well, alot happend! The first thing we did was go to Polo Park, Gem and I then started going up to strangers and we told them that "we are doing a project called Pay it Forward and as our act of kindness, we are giving out free cookies! would you like one?". After that we went outside to the parking lot and started putting notes on people's wind shield and the last thing we did was go to the Fire Paramedic Service on Sargent ave. to give the firefighters cookies and a letter! We also donated out Koats for Kids things there.

How did you feel?
At first I felt a little nervous and shy to go up to people but then I stopped feeling that way and started to feel proud and excited instead!

How did the person or people react?
People reacted kind of confused at first but then they were thankful that we gave them those cookies after and we didn't really get to see people's reactions when we gave the notes on the cars but I'm sure they were thankful too and The firefighter captain was also thankful for all the things we gave them and the stuff the donated.

Did you ask the person or people to "Pay It Forward"?
Yes! I did ask the person to "Pay It Forward!"

How did they react to your request?
After we asked them to "Pay It Forward" they said that they were going to try to remember to Pay It forward to another person sometime in the day or week and I think they were pretty amazed that we did that act of kindness!

Part 4
Why is the idea of "Pay it Forward" important?
The idea of "Pay It Forward" is important because it teaches young people like me, or adults also to not be selfish. It doesn't have to make a BIG difference,it can just be a little thing! Like what I did. Simple but yet it makes little difference in somebody's life. Starting their day out with a smile on their face or you can just donate and little thing like an old shirt you don't wear anymore or help other people find food, shelter and clothing!

Has your act of kindness made a difference?
My act of kindness made a little difference in those people lives that we handed cookies out to, my act of kindness also made a difference to those people who will be getting food, shelter or clothing from the money we donated to Salvation Army and last, we made a difference in those children that will receive the hats and mitts we bought!

Alyssa's Pay it Forward

Part 1
What is "Pay it Forward". To complete this part please edit and revise the paragraphs that you wrote after watching the movie.
Pay it Forward is a movement, where you get to do random acts of kindness, and you ask for nothing in return. Pay it Forward is an amazing way of helping people, and spreading out the cause. When you do this you don't ask for money or a payment in return, you tell them to "Pay it Forward", or help other people instead. It's a really simple process that you do, just to help random people, or people that you know.

Part 2
What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?
Why did you choose this activity?
Who did you help?
What did you do?
When did you do you act of kindness?

I actually did two acts of kindness. The first thing I did was that I gave toys to the Christmas Cheerboard, for kids who will probably get nothing for Christmas. I chose to do this, because I realized that while we're getting tons of expensive gifts, there are kids that get nothing. In doing this, I got to help kids have a nice Christmas, and I also got to help the Christmas Cheerboard fill up their boxes. I did my act of kindness on November 24th, in the afternoon.
My second act of kindness was that I gave Thank-You letters to my grade 5 and 6 teachers. I chose to do this because those teachers helped me understand that I could become a leader, and an amazing citizen. I helped my teachers light up and feel very proud of themselves. I did my act of kindness at lunch, on November 29th.

These are the letters I gave to my teachers. I couldn't get pictures because of privacy reasons.

This is the certificate I got for helping out!

Part 3
How did your act of kindness go?
What Happened?
How did you feel?
How did the person or people react?
Did you ask the person or people to "Pay It Forward"?
How did they react to your request?
If you did not ask the person to "Pay It Forward" how come?
My first act of kindness went really well. I went to the warehouse, and gave one of the workers my toys; she was really nice about it and happy as well. I felt really awkward at first, but then, I felt very happy and I began to feel very gracious. The worker was surprised to see that I was donating toys, and not an adult. I told the worker that I hoped that the toys would go to a nice family, and that they should continue doing what they do. The worker reacted very surprised, and thankful.
My second act of kindness went very well, also. I went to my school and gave my Grade 5 teacher her letter. As I was doing so, I feel very amazing, and there was kids watching, so I felt proud as well. My teacher actually started crying, and she was very happy; in fact, she hugged me and told me that I was one of her favourite students. I told her, in the letter, that I wish that she would Pay It Forward as well, and help people.
Part 4
Why is the idea of "Pay it Forward" important?
Has your act of kindness made a difference?
The idea of Paying it Forward is very important. That's because we usually don't think about other people, or help people expecting something in return. We all need to learn how to become gratuitous people, and we need to learn that we do not always need something in return.
I think my acts of kindness made a difference. That's because, now, some kids will get some Christmas gifts from "Santa", and because my teachers can now smile and feel proud and content.
