Dividing Integers Rules:
When you divide two integers with the same sign, the result is always positive. Just divide the absolute values and make the answer positive.

Positive ÷ positive = positive
Negative ÷ negative = positive


Example: 12 divided by 4 equals 3










How many groups of 4 are in 12? Share with 4 groups.


When you divide two integers with different signs, the result is always negative. Just divide the absolute values and make the answer negative.

Positive ÷ negative = negative
Negative ÷ positive = negative

Share (-12) with 4 groups.

Multiplicative Inverse
You don't need to model.

12 divided by -3 = -4
-4 x -3= 12

I agree with Justin for the first part because if you multiply a positive integer by a negative integer it would me a negative integer.
But for the second part I don't agree because it would be positive if you remove 5 by a negative number.



a) (+2) x (+4) = +8
b) (+3) x (-5) = -15



(If the integer signs are the same the product is positive, if the integer signs are different/opposite the product is negative)
a) (+10) x (+4) = +40
b) (+6) x (-5) = -30
c) (-7) x (+5) = -35
d) (-8) x (-4) = +32

Answer:
Ishnan thinking is wrong because the right answer is positive 21 but if he draw only three arrows the answer will be positive 9.

5.) what multiplication statement does each diagram represent?



The answer is (+2) x (-6)= -12

7.) Determine each product.

A.)  In this question I solve this by using number line. the answer for this question is -28.





B.) In this question i answer this by number line. the answer for this question is -18 because 2 groups of 9 is 18.
