AJ 's Proportion post

Part One

Ratio- A pair of numbers that compares different type of units.
Rate- Compares two quantities measured in different units.
Proportion- Is the equation that shows two ratios that are equal.

Part two

Copy these questions into your post.  Answer them using proportion statements.

1.) 5 hours to travel 360 kilometers is about _____km/h.
answer: divide 360 by 5 then you get will get 72
              72 km per hour.

2.) Emma saves 28 cents of every dollar that she earns.  Emma earned $75 last week.  How much money did Emma save last week?
answer: 28 cents x 100 cents=2800 cents
              2800 cents divided by 75 = 37.3 cents
Emma save 37.3 cents last week.

Part 3
What are the three ways you can prove that equivalent ratio statements are true?
3/4 = 12/16  or 4/9 = 16/32

1.)3/4 x 4 is equal to 12/16. then 12/16 divided by 4 is 3/4.
2.)Use cross multiplication.
3.) 4/9 = 16/32 is not a equivalent fraction.

Part 4
Find a video about using proportion and embed it in your post.  Make sure you select the small size of the video. (Bonus Marks if you make your own video about proportion and embed it)

Part 5

We are starting to engage in discussions about social justice.  What do you think about this image below.  Use the link to copy it into your post.  Then answer the questions

1.) Does it seems fair? No because the homeless man is going to prison for 15 years for stealing a $100 only. and the CEO is going to prison for 40 months only for stealing a very big value of money.
2.)With what you know about proportion look and read what is in the image above.  Does it seem just and fair? NO its no unfair.
3.)Why have you made this choice? because its obviously its very unfair.
4.)What would you have done if you were the judge? I would gave the homeless man a right time in jail.

question. How tall is the trees?
answer: The average height of a 12 year old boy is 5.2 ft. the boy probably 3x the tree.
