Jesryll's Proportion Post

Part 1:

Ratio- a pair of numbers that compares different kind of units. 
eg: 1:2
Rate- compared two quantities measured in different units.
eg: $1.25 /100g

Proportion- a relationship says that ratio and rate are equal.
eg:


Part 2:
1.)  5 hours to travel 360 kilometers is about _____km/h.


2.) 5 hours to travel 360 kilometers is about _____km/h.

Part 3:
What are the three ways you can prove that equivalent ratio statements are true?
3/4 = 12/16  or 4/9 = 16/32

1.) use equivalent fractions.


2.) vertically.

3.) crossed multiplication.


Part 4:

Find a video about using proportion and embed it in your post.  Make sure you select the small size of the video.

Part 5:

1.) Does this seem fair? 
answer: no it isn't fair.
2.)With what you know about proportion look and read what is in the image above.  Does it seem just and fair? 
answer: no it's not fair.
3.)Why have you made this choice? 
answer: This isn't fair because the CEO stole 3 million dollars but was only sent in jail for 40 months while the homeless man gets 15 years in prison for just stealing $100.
4.)What would you have done if you were the judge?answer: if i were the judge i will give the CEO 15 years in jail and the homeless man give for about 1 months in jail because 3 million is way more bigger that $100.
