This is a place for the community of learners in Room 8-14 to learn and enjoy math. It is an extension of the classroom making it accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Today at math, we were working on Intergers, solving them with number lines.
Question #1)
(-29) - (-74) = - To solve this, you re-write (-29) but change the subtract sign, to + and change (-74) to (+74) - If you come up on a question that's 2nd integer, is a positive, change it into a negitive: Example: (+45) - (+10) = (+45) + (-10) = +35
Your question should now look like this: (-29) - (-74) = (-29) + (+74) = +45
Also! The blue boxes are Zero Pair's.
Question #2)
(-61) - (-29) = (-61) + (+29) = -32
Question #3)
(-58) - (-33) = (-58) + (+33) = -25
And if you're still having some trouble with Integers, solving with a number line, here's a
