Hello 8-14

Integer Subtraction

       owe 30   owe 10
1.) (-30) - (-10)= (-30) + (+10)

negative 30 remove negative 10

negative 30 and positive 10

   have 24   owe 83
2.) (+24) - (-83)= (+24) + (+83)

positive 24 remove negative 83

positive 24 and positive 83

  have 89   owe 93
3.) (+89) - (-93) = (+89) + (+93)

positive 89 remove negative 93

positive 89 and positive 93

Please define
  • ratio
  • rate
  • proportion

7:21=1:3

RATE- The number or amount of something

examples:
stevie drove 212km in 4 hours. write in  rate notation.

PROPORTION- A part ( of total amount ).

2.    Emma saves 28 cents of every dollar that she earns. Emma earned $75 last week. How much money did Emma save last week? Emma saved $21 last week

PART 3

What are the three ways you can prove that equivalent ratio statements are true?

3/4 = 12/16 or 4/9 = 16/32

VERTICAL

1. 3x4=12 4x4=16

HORIZONTAL
2. 3/3=1--1x4=4 12/3=4--4x4=16

CROSS
3. 3x6=48/4=12

PART 4
Find a video about using proportion and embed it in your post. Make sure you select the small size of the video. (Bonus Marks if you make your own video about proportion and embed it)

PART 5

  • Does this seem fair?
  • With what you know about proportion look and read what is in the image above. Does it seem just and fair?
  • Why have you made this choice?
  • What would you have done if you were the judge?

    1. NO because the ceo stole alot of money than the other guy and he did not return the money that he stole.
    2. NO because the ceo stole a bigger amount of money thatn the other guy.
    3. because theres a big diffirence between 3 billion to $100. the ceo should be sentenced for 15 years instead of the man who stole a $100 and returned it.
    4. i would set him free because he's honest and he he didnt stole that much of money and it's a good thing he returned the money.

    BONUS QUESTION
     How tall is the tree?

this kid's height is propbably 5'5 and it would take 3 kids put together to reach that tree so 5.5x3=16.5.
