Perry Robles's Pay It Forward

Part 1: What is " Pay It Forward? "

Pay It Forward is a random act of kindness for or to someone, expecting nothing back but to " pay it forward to another person(s), so that the next person will " pay it forward ". As that keeps on going there will be so much people " paying it forward " all started from one person.

Part 2:

My " Pay It Forward " act of kindness was shoveling the side walks on my block, and peoples yards. I chose this activity because my block had snow on it and it was hard for people to walk, such as the mailman. I have helped people like the mail man, my neighbors and other people that walk on the block all the time. I shoveled the sidewalk and some of the yards that did have a gate. I did my act of kindness on Sunday, November 25 around 2 pm.

ADD IN PICTURES BEFORE SUNDAY ENDS

Part 3:

My act of kindness went pretty well. Well at first I got my shovels and went to the front and started on my yard and worked down the block and into some of my neighbors yards. I knocked on the door and explained to them why I was doing it, and how all they have to do for me is " Pay It Forward ". Well at first when i was shoveling I felt pretty good, because I was making it easier for someone that walks down this block. At times I got a little cold, but deep down in my heart I felt the love and warmth. Some of my neighbors were surprised of what I was doing. But one house there was this grumpy guy where I was in the middle of explaining it and he said " WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS I'M NOT GOING TO PAY YOU ! " and closed the door. And I was shocked, so I just walked away to the other houses. Good thing only one guy did that to me.Yes I did tell the person to " Pay It Forward ". They said they would try their best to " Pay It Forward ".

Part 4:

The idea of why " Pay It Forward " is important is because it teaches young people that no matter how young you are you can make a difference in this world. You can make a difference in the world by doing the littlest things like what I did. I don't know if my act of kindness has made a difference hopefully it has. Hopefully people noticed what I did. But I think it has because my neighbors will try and do their best to " Pay It Forward ".

TEST CORRECTIONS

My first mistake was on the first section of the test, where the question asks 16/9 - 3/2.
I had converted the fractions into mixed numbers, where I came up with 3 5/18. But the supposed answer is 5/18.

My second mistake was the one that asks, "In computer terminology, a bit is 1/8 of a byte. How many bits equal 16 bytes?"
My mistake was that I went, 1/8 x 1/16 = 2/128. The right answer is 128 bits.

The third mistake I made was the one about Tamar and apple pie.
My mistake was that I answered 1/4. But the right answer was 1/2 x 1/4 = 1/8.

The other mistakes I made were on the bottom where I drew all three pictures wrong, and I got the phrases wrong as well.
The correct answer for the 1st one was, What is 5/6 groups of 1/2?
The correct answer for the 2nd one was, How many groups of 1/3 are in 1/2?
The correct answer for the 3rd one was, How many groups of 1/2 are in 5/8?

The correct answers for the pictures were...

7)  Dividing Using Common Denominator

First you have to have to find the common denominator for example: 1/2 and 2/4 the common denominator is 4. Then after you do the reciprical strategy and if you have a mixed number you have to convert it to a improper fraction first.

8) Divide Using Multiplication

This is how you do it
USE RECIPRICOL
Number 11) In a Comedy Review each performer has a 1/4 slot. HOw many performers are there in a 2 hour slot.

My Test Corrections:

My first mistake was, 2 1/2 x 1 3/5, the correct answer to that is:

The rest of my mistakes at the first section are,
On 2 1/4 x 1 1/3 = 3 I thought it equaled 2 12/12, that part kinda confused me, at the time...

On the computer terminology question, I did the manipulative method, and ended up with 1/128,
when it was actually 128/1 or 128 bytes:
 Q) In computer terminology, a bit is 1/8 of a byte. How many bytes = 16 bytes?

Another mistake I've made at the first section was the question:
Tamar had 1/2 of an apple pie in her refrigerator. She ate 1/4 of this piece of pie. What fraction of whole pie did she eat? The answer was 1/8

My last mistake at the top part is the question, 1 1/2 ÷ 2/3 which again confused me, and I thought it was 1... Here's the real solution and answer:

My mistakes on the bottom section of our test (the graph to make diagrams)
My mistake on the first question was that it was suppose to equal 5/12 (I rushed my answer, that's why I got it wrong..)

My last mistake for this whole test is the question on the bottom section: 1/4 ÷ 1/3, the real answer is 3/4, also forgot to add "How Many Times does 1/3 go into 1/4?"

11.) In a comedy review, each performer has a 1/4 h slot. How many performers are there in a 2 h show?

I answer this question by using manipulatives method. The answer for this question is 8 performers.

12.) It takes 2 1/2 scoops of flour to make one cake. How many cakes do 15 scoops of flour make?

To answer this question first thing that you need to do is to change the mixed fraction to improper fraction.
then use the same method as the first one.The answer  for this question is 6 cakes.

13.) Three quarters of a can of apple juice fills six glasses. How many glasses will a whole can of apple juice fill?

The answer for this question is 8 glasses.

Here is the video on dividing fractions using the manipulatives method.

My test corrections.

My first mistake was on the question. In computer technology, a bit is 1/8 of a byte. how many bits equal in 16 bytes? I multiply it instead of dividing it.

the  correct answer is 128 bytes.

My another mistake was on the question. Tamar ha 1/2 of an apple pie in her refrigerator. she ate 1/4 of this piece of pie. What fraction of a whole pie did she eat? I divide it instead of multiplying it.

the correct answer is 1/2 x 1/4 = 1/8

My other mistake is the second question on bottom I solve it right but I don't now how to draw it.This picture show you how to draw it correctly.

And my last mistake is the last question at bottom I don;t know how to draw it. this picture show you how to draw it correctly.
