Mae's Fraction Scribepost

Today we learned more about reciprocals.

Here are some of the questions we did today: November 11, 2012

Greater than 1 because you are dividing greater number into smaller pieces. And when you divide a big number into smaller pieces you have more groups. In this case, you have small but many groups of fourths/fifths.

Less than 1 because you are dividing a small number with a greater number. And when you divide a small number with a greater number, you don't have many groups but the groups you made are big groups. In this case, you don't have many groups, but you have big groups of thirds/turds.

One Half Of The Homework Questions:

1.
I estimated that it would be greater than 1 because you're dividing a large number with a smaller number.
Bare with me here, I'm not sure if I did it right..

2.
I estimated that it would be less than 1 because you are dividing a smaller number with a larger number

3.
I estimated that it would be less than 1 because you are dividing a smaller number with a larger number.
I'm so sorry if I did the diagram wrong.

  1. Great job Mae! I liked how you had everything you needed to include and made everything really easy for us to understand. I also liked how you found a link to help us have a better understanding. Maybe next time you should add a video but overall you did great. Great job once again!
