2a. Why did she use 15 zero pairs?

Answer: She used 15 zero pairs because she modeled it with (-3) x (-5). She modeled it like this:

Answer: She should take away the negative zero pairs to get her answer. +15
7. Write each multiplication as a repeated addition

7a.  (+3) x (+8) 

Answer: 3 groups of 8 (+8) + (+8) + (+8) = (+24)

7b. (+5) x (-6)

Answer: 5 groups of Negative 6 (-6) + (-6) + (-6) + (-6) + (-6) + (-6) = (-36)

16. A building has 10 stories above ground and 3 stories below ground. Each story has a height of 4m.

Answer: (+10) x (+4) = (+40)

16b. What is the total depth of the builiding below ground?

Answer: (-3) x (+4) = (-12)
